The article examines data related to international student enrollment at U.S. universities in 2010 and 2011. Comments from several individuals are presented including Institute of International Education counselor Peggy Blumenthal on the amount of students from China and Saudi Arabia entering the U.S. to pursue a college degree, University of Iowa assistant dean Scott E. King about the impact of the economic relationship between the U.S. and China on higher education, and University of Colorado at Boulder official Lawrence H. Bell regarding the financial benefits U.S. colleges receive for recruiting internationally. Other topics include English language education for foreign students, U.S. policies regarding international educational exchanges, and the job market for college graduates.
