      The article presents a study that assess the effectiveness of expert and simple searches in Google Scholar (GS), EconLit, PAIS, GEOBASE, POPLINE, PubMed, Social Sciences Full Text, Sociological Abstracts, and Social Sciences Citation Index databases. Results also suggest that simple searches in GS, GEOBASE, Sociological Abstracts, and PubMed have constantly higher precision and recall than expert searches.
