Contemporary debates on health, biomedicine and citizenship emerge among a set of accounts that is marked, on the one hand, by the transformations taking place in the field of biomedicine and (bio)power, and, on the other hand, the reconfigurations introduced by several collective actors. In a theoretical and conceptual analysis, those contemporary debates are drawn along a boundary between biology and politics. The paper also proposes the hypothesis that some of the most visible redefinitions, in progress within the current healthscape, take place, particularly, in the mutual constitutions of two processes: biomedicalization of politics and politization of biology.
