ENDANGERED? WHO CARES?

The article discusses the gradual population decline of some species of insects where habitat is situated in an open geographical area. It is noted that they are in imminent danger of extinction due to several causal factors including poaching, pollution and habitat fragmentation as a result of infrastructure construction and other government profit-generating construction projects. Although they are delineated by many people as terrifying creatures and are quite known of attacking man's foods, homes and some are carriers of pathogenic microorganisms, these bugs need protection since they are important in maintaining the equilibrium of biotic communities.
