      The article discusses the use of cold temperatures in the compression of dehydrated foods to achieve higher density and greater cohesion. The technique of compression is dependent on the type of food. Coffee, for overseas use, is frozen then subjected to pressures to retain its volatile oils. The compression process was developed by Auto Ordnance Co., and results in the reduction of shipping space produced by dehydration-compression from 3.32 to one.
