Population-Level Associations between Preschool Vulnerability and Grade-Four Basic Skills.

The article discusses the associations between preschool vulnerability and grade-four basic skills. It examines the developmental vulnerability at kindergarten entry. The relative risk analysis was performed on a large database linking individual-level Early Development Instrument (EDI) ratings. It founds early vulnerability in kindergarten is related with the basic skills of children's academic achievement in reading and writing. Further it concludes that EDI can be used to predict educational trends of children.
