2000 Presidential Address: Eliminating Health Disparities.

The article suggests some fundamental principles that could aid in the elimination of health disparities through the application of social justice. The first principle highlights the connections between several unrelated phenomena such as population, public health, equal opportunity and quality education. Another principle is the fact that we all live in a global village. This brings out the realization that health is a global issue. Another principle is that worlds are created and destroyed by discourse. This addresses the power of language to construct reality.
