Zaméření výzkumu pro využití sacharosy k nepotravinářským účelům v ČR.

NON-FOOD APPLICATIONS OF SUCROSE - RESEARCH IN CZECH REPUBLIC.

The work summarizes research projects, which are focused on non-food applications of suCSose. Individual projects have been prepared by selected workplaces at universities or research institutes in the Czech republic. The solution covers the whole problem; i.e. raw material (e.g. analysis of sugar beet genotype, genetically modified CSops), new generation biofuels (biobutanol, biogas), and research and development of prebiotics and biodegradable tensides and plastics. An important task deals with ecological friendly technologies (such as new separation processes) and higher exploitation of waste material from sugar and ethanol production (non-waste technologies implementation). Fundamental goals and expected outputs are desCSibed in all parts of the project. Project results should become a foundation for a development of new production processes and their introduction to practice. The next effect should be a re-enlargement of sugar beet sowing areas, especially in regions where the EU regulations limited sugar production for food applications and subsequently the beet cultivation has been discontinued.
