      The article reports that the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has no indication that aspartame causes cancer connected with regular intake of the sweetener. EFSA's Food Additives and Nutrient Sources has stated the result of the long-term carcinogenicity study of rats administered with aspatame. Moreover, the food authority has concluded its evidence based on the safety of aspartame for the revision of established acceptable daily intake tumors.
