      The article discusses the increasing demand for on-demand printing in the U.S. in 2009. According to David Taylor, president of Lightning Source, the business model, quality and cost structure of print on demand (POD) have all matured and with it, publishers will be able to match supply to demand while at the same time eliminating the risks and costs linked to the book market. Another benefit of a POD business model is that it is essentially environmentally green.
