FORCED FLEXIBILITY: A MIGRANT WOMAN'S STRUGGLE FOR SETTLEMENT.

This article reports on rural migrants in Chinese cities and their role in China's politics and society. Rural migrants have faced discrimination and stigmas in the past, but are facing less in the 2000s due to changes in governmental, legal, and institutional reforms. The article discusses these changes related to employment, transportation, and education. The article also presents an ethnographic study of worker referred to as Aunt Sun and her socioeconomic conditions, urban life, struggles, and settlement.
