Mercy in the Context of Euthanasia. (Slovenian)

The article focuses on the practice of euthanasia by showing mercy on terminally ill patients. Euthanasia is described as the act of intentionally taking the life of an individual who is extremely ill or suffering severe pain. It mentions that relieving an individual from suffering is to act mercifully and is based on utilitarianism. The justification for euthanasia is given to be based on notions of personal autonomy or self democracy. It mentions that the act of showing mercy requires a relationship of love between a giver and receiver. The author describes true mercy as an act of humanity in response to people who are in depths of illness, depression and isolation.
