      The article reports that in July 2007, the Edward E. Ford Foundation announced a new program "The Edward E. Ford Foundation Educational Leadership Grants." It is reported that the intent behind this new initiative is to mine the best in schools and leadership. To that end, the foundation has sought generative ideas and programs that are both transformative and replicable. At the June 2008 meeting of the foundation's board, five grants of $250,000 were awarded to five schools of the U.S.
