Stormy Outlook for Asthma.

The article discusses a study published in the July 2008 issue of "Thorax" regarding the link between asthma and thunderstorms. Topics include a brief discussion of the research methodology used by climatologists and epidemiologists and results from their findings. The use of a Doppler radar in helping to identify key elements that impact asthmatics during a thunderstorm, or other meteorological event, including rainfall rates, downdraft wind strength, and lightning is also presented.
