      The article presents a study that determines the Arctic sea-ice loss using three factors including atmospheric heat transport, oceanic heat transport and ice export. Lars Smedsrud and his colleagues found that ice export through the Fram Strait east of Greenland is the more important factor in ice loss especially in 2007 to 2008. They explain that if current patterns continue, a seasonally ice-free Arctic is possible within decades.
