THE ATTITUDES OF STUDENT TEACHERS OF SCIENCE TOWARDS PHYSICS LESSON. (English)

The aims of this study are to determine the attitudes of science teacher candidates in physics lesson which is one of the field lessons and to search the relations between the attitude and the academic success. In addition, the other aim is to examine that do the gender and the school status of candidates create differences or don't in attitudes and academic success in physics lesson? The research is a descriptive study characterized as a comparison and was realized on 153 teacher candidates which had received education at Cumhuriyet University; Faculty of Education, Department of Science-teaching, in spring semester of 2005-2006 education year. "Attitude Scale towards Physics Lesson" (FTÖ) which has been developed by the researcher has been applied as the data collecting tool. The relation between the attitude points and the academic success points was evaluated by using the analysis of Pearson's correlation coefficient, t-test and one way variance analysis (ANOVA) were used to evaluate that were there any differences between attitudes due to the gender and the school types in physics lesson or were not? In the result of this study, it has been fixed that there were differences between attitudes according to gender and the graduated high school type in physics lesson, there was an average relation between the attitudes in physics lesson and their academic success levels (r = 0,556, p<0,01). Bu çalışmanın amacı, fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının alan derslerinden fizik dersine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek ve tutum ile bu dersteki akademik başarı arasındaki ilişkileri araştırmaktır. Ayrıca fizik dersine yönelik tutumlarda ve akademik başarıda cinsiyet ve okul türünün farklılık yaratıp yaratmadığını incelemektir. Araştırma karşılaştırma niteliğinde betimsel bir çalışma olup, 2005-2006 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliğinde öğrenim gören 153 öğretmen adayı üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen "Fizik Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (FTÖ)" uygulanmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının tutum puanları ile akademik başarı puanları arasındaki ilişki pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyon katsayısı, fizik dersine yönelik tutumlarda cinsiyete ve okul türüne göre farklılık olup olmadığı t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda, cinsiyete ve mezun oldukları lise türüne göre, fizik dersine yönelik tutum da farklılıklar olduğu, fiziğe yönelik tutum ile akademik başarı düzeyleri arasında orta düzeyde bir ilişki bulunduğu saptanmıştır (r = 0,556, p < 0,01).
