Bridging the Data Gap: Balancing the Supply and Demand for Chemical Information.

The article explores the utilization of chemical information in supporting a robust program of protective regulation in the U.S. The regulatory system referred here describes the preexisting conditions that call for regulatory attention and the future conditions that regulations must achieve. It invokes regulations on hazardous air pollutants and chemicals in the Clean Air Act and the Delaney Clause. To achieve this goals the data gap pertaining to toxicity and exposure information must be remedied using risk-based regulations and harnessing the demand for information.
