Alan Garen has been appointed as the professor of molecular biology at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Garen received the Selman Waksman Honorary Lectureship Award for his outstanding contributions to microbiology in 1963. Nyle C. Grady has been appointed as the Director of Science and Education for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. James A. Oliver, Director of the American Museum of Natural History, New York, received the Outstanding Achievement Award of the University of Michigan.
