It is stated that effective principals have clearly defined goals for their schools, that focus on students and promote continued improvement. Effective principals consider teachers as a team working together to achieve these goals. It is mentioned that effective principals allocate resources needed to maximize the quality of teaching and learning. It is stated that effective principals are serious about their responsibility for teacher evaluation, and they are able to accommodate differences among teachers regarding their personalities and teaching methods.
