      The article reports on the annual screening conducted by the Team of Physicians for Students (TOPS), led by founder Paul Steingard to diagnose cardiac conditions in student athletes in Phoenix, Arizona. TOPS used electrocardiogram and echocardiogram devices donated by Philips Medical Systems. An estimated 300 volunteer cardiologists, radiologists, physicians and technicians screened more than 2,500 student athletes, identifying several athletes with fatal heart conditions.
