The article discusses products and service related to environmental health. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has developed a training module for Food Defense Awareness called ALERT. The course describes ways to prevent intentional food contamination. also the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has released guidelines for pandemic influenza and a tool called the Pandemic Severity Index which ranks pandemic severity similarly to the severity of hurricanes. It characterizes each level of severity and suggests actions which government and health officials might take at each level.
