Judge Rules Against USDA in GM Grass Lawsuit.

This article reports that a federal judge has ruled that the U.S. Department of Agriculture must halt all new field trials of certain genetically modified grasses until more environmental reviews are conducted. Varieties of creeping bentgrass and Kentucky bluegrass have been genetically engineered to resist Monsanto's Roundup herbicide. The Center for Food Safety, who is the plaintiff in the lawsuit, says it is concerned that greater amounts of the Roundup herbicide may be used to spray entire lawns, fields and golf courses.
