      The article focuses on the author's experience as a participant in the meeting of the United Nations Committee on Science and Technology for Development that was held in August 1979 in Vienna, Austria. The meeting was on science and technology for development. The international coverage of the meetings was excellent. The author devoted his attention on the plenary sessions in which each speaker was allowed to express the views of their countries on the theme of the conference.
