  The article examines the author's arguments surrounding the consideration of institutional economics as an evolutionary science by citing Classical Pragmatism, various manifestations of Darwinism, sociobiology, and neo-evolutionism. Scientific research traditions are discussed. The author argues in depth for the distinction of pre-Darwinian theories and for the specifics of intelligent design alongside biodiversity and essentialism. The article provides the definitions of adaptation, natural selection, and gradualism. Evolutionary and ecological anthropology have informed industrial societies.
