The article focuses on issues related to the introduction of routine immunization of infants against pneumococcal disease in Great Britain. The new immunization schedule was announced on June 12, 2006. One of the problems of introducing a new vaccine is how to fit another vaccine into the immunization schedule. The anti-vaccination lobbies accuse immunization policy makers of overloading the children's immune system by introducing more vaccines.
