The article discusses the standardized norms on the protection of endangered species and how these norms continue to impact environmental policy-making. The norms were tackled from its inception, in the late 19th and early 20th, and first implemented in few key Northern states, particularly the U.S. and Great Britain. Eventually it was progressively projected at the international level and became as norm of international law. The need for these norms are highly emphasized considering the status in number of these extinct species and the vital role they played in the biodiversity processes, as well as how these species protection law could be an integral point in some environmental-concerned prescriptions.
