(BNSF), across the southwestern U.S. They are constant companions through three states, including New Mexico, Arizona, and California. While the Santa Fe Railway name has been gone since 1996, successor BNSF has brought unheard-of traffic levels to what it now calls the Transcon line between Chicago and Los Angeles.
