      This article presents information on a study related to the adaptability of the health promoting schools concept in Australia. According to the authors, a health promoting school is one which has an organized set of policies, procedures, activities and structures designed to protect and promote the health and well-being of students, staff and school community members. They further state that the health promoting school movement in the country is experiencing wide support because it is a timely concept for many groups' work. The membership of the Health Promoting School Association is increasing, funding and re-funding of state based projects is occurring, and there is increasing interest from different health professional groups, notably general practitioners and nurses.
