HARMONIZATION OF THE MASORETIC TEXT IN THE TRANSLATION OF PSALM 8.5a AND HEBREWS 2.7.

The Old Testament (OT) translations use the Stuttgartensia Hebrew Bible (BSB), based on the Masoretic Text (MT). The verse of Psalm 8.5a in the BBS uses the word gods, אֱלֹהִ֑ים, which is difficult to interpret and apply hermeneutically. The Greek used in the book of Hebrews has the best literary and writing style in the New Testament, with literary and grammatical richness, with approximately 35 direct quotations from the OT and 25 textual allusions attributed to the Septuagint (LXX). The author of the book of Hebrews uses the word angels, ἀγγέλους, in Hebrew 2.7, as a direct quotation from Psalm 8.5a. The LXX uses the word angels, ἀγγέλους in this verse (Psalm 8.6 in the LXX) instead of the word gods, אֱלֹהִ֑ים (Psalm 8.5a) found in the MT text. The excellence of the MT in comparison to the LXX is not in dispute, but we must consider the historical perspective of this translation into Greek, which incorporates proto-Masoretic texts, and the Jewish tradition of the third century BCE, dating back to before the period of composition of the MT. The best translation of the pericope of Psalm 8.5a should exceptionally opt for angels, ἀγγέλους, from the LXX, instead of the word gods or God, אֱלֹהִ֑ים from the MT, with the harmonious rereading in Hebrews in 2.7. As traduções do Antigo Testamento (AT) empregam a Bíblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS), a partir do Texto Massorético (TM). O versículo do Salmo 8.5a na BHS traz a palavra deuses ou Deus, אֱלֹהִ֑ים, com dificuldades na sua interpretação e aplicação hermenêutica. O grego empregado no livro de Hebreus tem o melhor estilo literário e redacional do Novo Testamento, com riqueza literária e gramatical, com aproximadamente 35 citações diretas do AT e 25 alusões textuais atribuídas a Septuaginta (LXX). O autor do livro de Hebreus emprega a palavra anjos, ἀγγέλους, em Hebreu 2.7, como citação direta de Salmo 8.5a. A LXX emprega a palavra anjos, ἀγγέλους neste versículo (Sl 8.6 na LXX) em detrimento a palavra deuses, אֱלֹהִ֑ים (Sl 8.5a) encontrada no texto TM.
