TikTok Inc. has announced that it will be shutting down its music streaming service in November. The decision comes after years of trying to compete with Spotify and Apple in the music streaming industry. TikTok Music will go offline on November 28th, and users have been advised to transfer their playlists to other services by October 28th. The music service was created by TikTok's owner, ByteDance, to take advantage of the app's popularity with music fans. TikTok videos have been influential in promoting hit songs and new artists, but have also led to conflicts with record labels over payment. The music service, originally called Resso, was launched in 2019 as an attempt to attract TikTok users to a new platform. [Extracted from the article]
