South Africa's new 10-party coalition government is aiming to increase agricultural exports to China in order to strengthen ties with the country, boost the economy, and address high unemployment rates. The Agriculture Minister, John Steenhuisen, stated that they are working to ensure that South African agricultural products meet China's phytosanitary and biosecurity requirements. Currently, South Africa already exports citrus and beef to China and is looking to expand its range of goods. China has become South Africa's largest trading partner, surpassing the European Union, and both countries are part of the BRICS bloc.
