The article discusses research published in the Februeary 5, 2024 issue of the journal "JAMA Network Open" which suggested exercising with a buddy or in a group setting to boost step count and overall physical activity. The study evaluated the influence of peer support, intrapersonal and interpersonal coaching on motivations to exercise. It examined the advantages of finding an exercise partner and an enjoyable activity that improves strength and balance such as walking, hiking, or cycling.
