Nomura's Crypto Unit to Offer Higher-Yielding Ether ETF Alternative.

Nomura Holdings Inc.'s digital-asset unit, Laser Digital, plans to launch a higher-yielding alternative to the recently launched Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The Ether ETFs did not include staking, a process that allows investors to earn passive income by temporarily making their tokens available to the Ethereum network. Laser Digital's fund, set to launch in early September, will be open to accredited investors and aims to provide institutional investors with exposure to the "carry component" from Ethereum.
