Germany has been accused by the Czech Republic of hoarding gas by reducing the capacity of an export pipeline, just as the region is trying to replace supplies from Russia. The Czech energy minister claims that the transmission system operator, Gascade Gastransport GmbH, has cut the exit capacity of a connection point at the Czech Republic's northwest border. This reduction in capacity could make it more difficult for eastern European nations to reduce their dependence on Russia and may incentivize some member states to increase their gas imports from the east.
