- نبذة مختصرة :
Brain-computer startup Synchron Inc. is using OpenAI's latest artificial intelligence models to help paralyzed patients communicate through its implant. The device, called the Stentrode, is implanted into the brain via a vein in the neck and can communicate a patient's desired actions to a tablet computer. The integration of the Stentrode with OpenAI's GPT-4o model allows for easier drafting of written responses and could potentially lead to enhanced brainpower for both paralyzed and healthy individuals. Synchron emphasizes that it does not share any brain data with OpenAI, but rather uses inputs from the user's environment to suggest responses. The technology has the potential to greatly improve the independence and quality of life for patients with conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Synchron is still in the early stages of testing the device and plans to apply for FDA approval in the future. [Extracted from the article]
