This research work consists of the analysis and comparison of two very prominent novels in Spanish and Egyptian literature: The innocent saints (1983) and al-Wasiyya (1987). The purpose of this study is to bring the Arab reality closer to the Spanish, highlighting the confluence and similarity that exist between both novels, which are manifested in some very common features in the way of life of the characters: exploitation, conformism or blind obedience, humiliation and marginalization to which the protagonists of the two novels are subjected in a very similar rural setting. Este trabajo de investigación consiste en el análisis y la comparación de dos novelas muy destacadas dentro de la literatura española y egipcia: Los santos inocentes (1983) y al-Wasiyya (1987). La finalidad de este estudio reside en acercar la realidad árabe a la española, poniendo de relieve la confluencia y la similitud que existen entre ambas novelas, que se manifiestan en unos rasgos muy comunes en la forma de vida de los personajes: explotación, conformismo u obediencia ciega, humillación y marginación a las que están sometidos los protagonistas de las dos novelasen un espacio rural muy similar.
