According to an article in TD: Talent Development, some organizations have implemented back-to-office mandates that require employees to work from the office for a minimum number of days. However, many organizations do not specify how long employees must stay at the office, leading to the practice of "coffee badging." Coffee badging involves going into the office in the morning to get coffee and then returning home to complete the workday, fulfilling the minimum requirement while maintaining flexibility. A survey conducted by Owl Labs found that 58 percent of hybrid employees engage in coffee badging, while 8 percent expressed interest in trying it. The survey also revealed that although 66 percent of respondents currently work full time in person, only 22 percent prefer this arrangement. [Extracted from the article]
