Safety Role and Contribution to Industrial Sustainability.

This document is a special issue of the journal "Sustainability" that focuses on the role of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in enhancing industrial sustainability. The issue highlights the need for more attention to be given to the social dimension of sustainability, particularly OSH, in order to assess the impact of emerging trends and technologies on OSH. The special issue includes three papers that offer different perspectives on OSH in terms of the industry, safety issues, and research methodology. The papers cover topics such as integrating production economics and OSH, OSH problems faced by golf caddies, and safety climate measurement methods in the construction industry. The authors conclude that further studies are needed to explore how safety can positively impact industrial sustainability, including topics such as OSH in sustainability reporting and standards, OSH as a business sustainability strategy, and safety performance measurement and benchmarking.
