      Synonymy has a significant role in language as it is concerned with the relationship between words and meanings used by people to communicate. Despite the non-existence of this phenomenon in the past and modern times, there are many supporters for its existence. This research aims to shed light on the phenomenon of synonymy in Tuhfat al-Muhtaj for Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami. He proved that there are several synonymous words such as (praise and thanks). The research identifies the justification for the existence of this phenomenon in Arabic. The research has concluded that there are synonymous words in this masterpiece book.       للترادف أهمية بالغة؛ كونه يهتم بالعلاقة بين الألفاظ والمعاني لقصد التواصل بين الناس، فعلى الرغم من وجود المنكرين لوجوده قديمًا وحديثًا إلا أننا نجد المؤيدين كذلك ؛ لذا يهدف هذا البحث إلى تسليط الضوء على ظاهرة التَّرادف في كتاب تحفة المحتاج بشرح المنهاج، إذ أثبت الهيتمي عدة ألفاظ مترادفة مثل : (الحمد والثناء ) على الرغم من التفريق بينهما لدى غيره، كما تضمن البحث أسباب وجود هذه الظاهرة في العربية، وخلص إلى: ألفاظ مترادفة في كتاب التحفة ، أما المنهج المعتمد في البحث : فهو المنهج التحليلي وجود الاستقرائي.
