The article discusses research published in the issue of the journal "Nursing in Critical Care" which found the association of skin problems to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in internal care units during the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the skin problems experienced by intensive care nurses associated with the use of N95 masks, face shields and goggles were allergic contact dermatitis, acne, chapped skin, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis and contact urticaria.
