Conceptions on gender of undergraduate students in Pedagogy from the Free Association of Words. (English)

The objective is to analyze the conceptions of undergraduate students in Pedagogy, from a public university in São Paulo, about gender. Data collected through an open questionnaire was used, using the Free Word Association Technique (TALP). The participants consisted of 165 undergraduates enrolled in the initial and final years of the course. A word association test was generated in which the words associated with gender had their evocation frequency calculated and were grouped according to their meaning parity. Six conceptions were created: gender in 1) polysemic conception; 2) biologizing; 3) critical-social; 4) identity; 5) religious-radical; and 6) associated with sexuality; being the most predominant, with more words evoked and more frequently, the identi ty and critical-social conceptions. The results revealed that the theme, being conceived in different ways, varies from less emancipatory perspectives to others more potential for the development of a pedagogical work that addresses gender at school. Objetiva-se analisar as concepções de graduandos(as) em Pedagogia, de uma universidade pública paulista, sobre gênero. Recorreu-se a dados coletados por um questionário aberto, utilizando-se da Técnica de Associação Livre de Palavras (TALP). Os(as) participantes consistiram em 165 graduandos(as) matriculados(as) nos anos inicial e final do curso. Gerou-se um teste de associação de palavras em que as palavras em associação a gênero tiveram sua frequência de evocação calculada e, em seguida, foram agrupadas segundo sua paridade de significação. Erigiram-se seis concepções sobre o tema: gênero em concepção 1) polissêmica; 2) biologizante; 3) crítico-social; 4) identitária; 5) religioso-radical; e 6) associada à sexualidade; sendo as mais predominantes, com mais palavras evocadas e maior frequência, as concepções identitária e crítico-social. Os resultados revelaram que o tema, sendo concebido de diferentes formas, varia desde perspectivas menos emancipatórias até outras mais potenciais para o desenvolvimento de um trabalho pedagógico que aborde gênero na escola.
