يهدف البحث إلى تسليط الضوء على نظام الشرطة في عصر سالطين دلهي )2.6-817هـ/1206-1414م(، فقد اعتمدت بالد دلهي شانها في ذلك شان كثير من البالد االخرى على نظام الشرطة في الحفاظ على امنها واستقرارها، مما استدعى االمر الى انشاء نظام الشرطة داعم للجيش لمساعدته في اداء مهامه ووظائفه العسكرية وتوفير ال من وما ينتج عنه من رخاء االقتصادي فب كافة ارجاء البالد، ويمثل نظام الشرطة أحد مكونات النظام اإلداري في دلهي على الرغم من اننا لم نجد ما يشير إلى استخدام مصطلح الشرطة، بل ظهرت تسمية الكوتوال، وهو بمثابة رئيس الشرطة، ويكون هذا المنصب اشبه ما يكون بالحاكم العسكري للقلعة وعليه تقع مسؤولية حفظ المن ومنع اإلضطرابات سواء كان داخل القلعة أو في المناطق المجاورة لها، ويكون مسؤوال عن القلعة عند غياب السلطان. اعتمد البحث على عدد من المصادر والمراجع ذات الصلة بتاريخ الهند اإلسالمية [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
