The impact of COVID-19 first wave on the psychosocial well-being of nurses: a scoping review. (English)

The infection with the new coronavirus (ncov2019) has spread extremely rapidly, causing high morbidity and mortality rates in many states around the world. The negative trend of cases and deaths is naturally set to increase over time until a specific cure or vaccine is found that will put an end to the virulence and contagiousness of the new coronavirus2019. In this scenario, nurses are subjected to unprecedented emergency situations involving the management of infected patients and the conditions in which they work. Such situations generate increased levels of stress, anxiety, and depression that affect the health of nurses and their psychosocial and relational quality of life. Purpose: Investigate and assess factors such as anxiety, stress and depression that affect the psychosocial wellbeing of nurses employed in frontline emergency care for COVID19. Study design: scoping review. Materials and Methods: the scoping review was conducted by consulting the following biomedical databases: Pubmed, Cinhal, Psycoinfo and Web of Science. il contagio dell'infezione da nuovo coronavirus (ncov2019) si è propagata in modo estremamente rapido causando elevati tassi di morbilità e mortalità in numerosi Stati del mondo. Il trend negativo dei casi e dei decessi è naturalmente destinato a crescere nel tempo fino a che non si troverà una cura specifica ovvero un vaccino che metta fine alla virulenza e alla contagiosità del nuovo coronavirus2019. In questo scenario, gli infermieri sono sottoposti a situazioni emergenziali senza precedenti che riguardano sia la gestione dei pazienti infettati che le condizioni in cui operano. Tali situazioni generano un aumento dei livelli di stress, ansia e depressione che incidono sullo stato di salute degli infermieri condizionandone la qualità di vita psicosociale e relazionale. Scopo: indagare e valutare i fattori come ansia, stress e depressione che incidono sul benessere psicosociale degli infermieri impiegati in prima linea nell'emergenza sanitaria covid19.
