      Objective:review the practice in evidence, using the PICO strategy, which will help the intensive care nurse in the identification and treatment of nursing conduct on patient-controlled analgesia.Methods:this is an integrative review of scientific literature by searching an online, computerized and/or manual database, in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), in the following databases: Lilacs, SciELO, Bdenf and Academic Google, in the period of 2013 to 2021, using descriptors: Patient-controlled analgesia; Nursing diagnosis; Critical care; Technology. Results:in this study, 10 articles were chosen for analysis, the criteria for choice were the relevance to the topic and the year of publication.Conclusion:based on the reviewed articles, we verified the importance of the nursing team being informed and updated in technological advances, adapting their care to the individual in a unique way, for a nursing diagnosis centered on the effective resolution of pain. Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) has been a great advance with technology and provides an effective and safe analgesia modality, becoming the most common standard method for postoperative pain control in the world and is associated with high satisfaction.       Objetivo: revisar a prática em evidência, utilizando a estratégica PICO, que auxiliará o enfermeiro intensivista na identificação e tratamento da conduta de enfermagem sobre a analgesia controlada pelo paciente. Métodos: trata-se de uma revisão sistematizada da literatura científica por meio da busca em base de dados online, computadorizada e/ou manual, na Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS), nas bases: Lilacs, SciELO, Bdenf e Google Acadêmico, no período de 2013 a 2021, usando descitores: Analgesia controlada pelo paciente; Diagnóstico de enfermagem; Cuidados críticos; Tecnologia. Resultados: no presente estudo foram escolhidos 10 artigos para análise, os critérios para escolha foi a relevância ao tema e o ano de publicação. Conclusão: com base nos artigos revisados, constatamos a importância da equipe de enfermagem estar inteirada e atualizada nos avanços tecnológicos, adequando seu cuidado ao indivíduo de forma singular, para um diagnóstico de enfermagem centrado na resolução eficaz da dor. A analgesia controlada pelo paciente (PCA) teve um grande avanço junto a tecnologia e proporciona uma modalidade de analgesia eficaz e segura, tonando-se método padrão mais comum para o controle da dor pós-operatória no mundo e está associada a alta satisfação.
