Using Administrative Data to Assess Transgender Health and Mortality Disparities.

The authors comment on a study published within the issue which used administrative data as a tool to study health disparities for transgendered with cisgender people. Topics covered include the opportunity to document health disparities that administrative claims data offer to researchers, the limitations of administrative claims data, and two issues to consider when interpreting the results of the study which showed evidence on the mortality disadvantages experienced by trans people.
