اتجاهات طلاب المرحلة الثانوية بالكويت المتعلقة بالدراسات الاجتماعية.

Kuwait Secondary School Students' Attitudes towards Social Studies.

الأهداف: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تفحص اتجاهات المتعلمين بمدارس التعليم الثانوي بدولة الكويت حيال مادة الدراسات الاجتماعية، المتعلقة بمدى أهمية هذه المادة ومشاعرهم حيالها إضافة إلى مدى صعوبتها. المنهج: اعتمدت الدراسة أداة الاستبانة التي احتوت على 24 بندا حول هذه الاتجاهات وتقسمت بالتساوي على ثلاثة محاور، هي: محور الأهمية، ومحور المشاعر، ومحور الصعوبة. وتضمنت هذه الاستبانة متغير جنس أفراد العينة. وتم التحقق من صدق الاستبانة بالاستعانة بالزملاء الأساتذة بالقسم. ولقد تم استخدام برنامج SPSS بغرض المعالجة الإحصائية للاستجابات التي تمت على أداة الدراسة، كما تم التحقق من درجة ثباتها. واستخدم هذا البرنامج لحساب متوسطات استجابات العينة على بنودها كافة، ولحساب قيم (ت) بغرض الاستدلال على الفروق الفردية تبعا لمتغير جنس التلميذ. النتائج كان من أبرز نتائج الدراسة أن الطلاب لا يحملون اتجاهات إيجابية تجاه مادة الدراسات الاجتماعية، وأنها كانت أقرب إلى السلبية منها إلى الإيجابية، ويستثنى من ذلك تلك الاتجاهات المتعلقة بتنمية الروح الوطنية في الطلاب. كما تبين من هذه الدراسة أنه لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في هذه الاتجاهات ما بين الذكور والإناث، ويستثنى من ذلك محور مشاعر الطلاب الذي لوحظت فيه فروق إحصائية عند مستوى 1% لصالح الذكور. الخاتمة: بناء على نتائج هذه الدراسة التي أبرزت اتجاهات الطلاب تجاه الدراسات الاجتماعية، دعا الباحث القائمين على الدراسات الاجتماعية إلى العمل على كل ما من شأنه أن يحسن من اتجاهات الطلاب ناحية هذه المادة، وخاصة تنقيحها مما يتسبب في تدني هذه المواقف والاتجاهات بهذه الصورة التي أوضحتها الدراسة. Objectives: This study focused on examining the attitudes of secondary school learners in Kuwait towards social studies. These attitudes included three topics related to social studies’ value, students’ feelings towards this subject, and how difficult it is. Method: A 24 items questionnaire was designed to measure students’ attitudes towards Social Studies distributed over 3 axes. The importance, feeling toward this subject, and the difficulty. The questionnaire also included the gender variable. Questionnaires’ validity was considered, as well as its reliability. SPSS was used to analyze the collected data, including the T-test, to measure the differences according to the gender variable. Results: The study results showed the students do not hold positive attitudes towards social studies except those related to the national spirit development. The study showed no statistically significant differences in these attitudes and trends between males and females, except for pupils’ feelings and conceptions towards social studies, where statistical differences were observed at 0.01 level in favor of male students. Conclusion: Based on this study’s results, the researcher called social studies specialists to improve students’ attitudes towards this subject. He specifically recommended that revising it in order to slash down the negativity and trends explained by this study. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
