Sprache und Kognition: Diskurspragmatik und Textverarbeitung bei Exekutivstörungen. (German)

Language and cognition. (English)

In my doctoral thesis I addressed the research question of the interaction between language, cognition, and behavior and their representation in the brain. The focus was on the development and evaluation of a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure for people with language disorders due to impaired cognitive abilities. The project was carried out over a period of 3 years as part of the PHD program (LIPP/class of language, LMU Munich) at the Schön Clinic Bad Aibling. Due to my professional experiences as a lecture for the Chair of German Linguistics and as a speech therapist specializing in neurological rehabilitation, I am familiar with the productive collaboration between different disciplines and thoroughly appreciate it because of the many positive experiences and mutual interest in the state of knowledge in other subject areas. This interest in gaining interdisciplinary knowledge motivated me to compare current research topics in linguistics, psychology, education, and neurology and to integrate them into the individual treatment of people with craniocerebral injury. The integrative approach of my project provided important impulses for the treatment of individuals with neurological disorders, which became clear in the positive course of the project. In meiner Dissertation habe ich mich mit der Frage nach der Interaktion von Sprache, Kognition und Verhalten und deren Repräsentation im Gehirn auseinander gesetzt. Im Zentrum stand dabei die Entwicklung und Evaluation eines Diagnostik- und Therapieverfahrens für Menschen mit Sprachstörungen bei beeinträchtigten kognitiven Fähigkeiten. Das Projekt wurde über einen Zeitraum von 3 Jahren berufsbegleitend im Rahmen des Promotionsprogramms (LIPP, LMU München) an der Schön Klinik Bad Aibling durchgeführt. Durch meine Tätigkeiten als Dozentin am Lehrstuhl für germanisti- sche Linguistik und als akademische Sprachtherapeutin in der neurologischen Rehabilitation ist mir die fruchtbare Zusammenarbeit verschiedener Fachbereiche vertraut und durch viele positive Erfahrungen und gegenseitiges Interesse am Wissenstand anderer Disziplinen hoch geschätzt. Dieses Interesse am interdisziplinären Erkenntnisgewinn moti- vierte mich, aktuelle Forschungsthemen der Linguistik, Psychologie, Pädagogik und Neurologie zu vergleichen und in die individuelle Behandlung von Menschen mit Schädelhirnverletzung zu integrieren. Durch den integrativen Ansatz meines Projektes konnten für die Behandlung von Menschen mit neurologischen Erkrankungen wichtige Impulse gesetzt werden, was sich im positiven Verlauf des Projekts verdeutlichte.
