Education Under the Corona Pandemic, Challenges, and Solutions: A Global and Local View from the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development.

The Corona virus pandemic (COVID -19) is a stressful test to educational systems around the world. With hundreds of millions of learners forced to stay at home, education policy makers are working to ensure that classrooms continue, and that the most vulnerable are not left behind. As countries around the world use different methods of pandemic control, the Corona virus crisis is an opportunity for policymakers to share experiences and collaborate to mitigate the effects of the pandemic. With the combined expertise of the Harvard Global Innovation Initiative in Education, the Department of Education and Skills of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the World Bank Group's Global Education Practice Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) collected information from around the world on the response of educational systems to the crisis. This paper presents a summary of six of the most prominent reports highlighting analyses by education experts on global and local responses to the crisis, and lessons learned from implementing response strategies in different contexts to create resources for teachers, policy makers and learners to ensure that education does not stop.
