This study discussed the concept of COVID-19 pandemic according to clinical as well as from the perspective of fiqh. In addition, a discussion was made on the concept of maradh al-mawt according to current fiqh and legislation. An explanation had been made on the status of COVID-19 sufferers in the terminal disease category or maradh al-mawt according to fiqh, followed by several cases that have been reported regarding maradh al-mawt. Finally, the study has touched on the effect of hibah to a COVID-19 patient if the patient had reached the critical level. As a result, a hibah prepared by a COVID-19 patient, can be categorized as a maradh al-mawt hibah if the physician has classified the patient’s current condition has reached a critical stage.
