Evidence-based Information and Special Education.

One of the leading buzzwords across many different professional fields is "evidence-based." In the arena of special education, this has also become the norm. Whereas in the past the focus was on providing support services to students with special needs, now the emphasis has shifted to providing effective services, meaning that it is important to have measurable and relevant data about the outcome of services. The goal is to be able to demonstrate that an intervention is both helpful and effective; otherwise, there is little point in providing it.
